Looks like subscribers of Autoweek got an early copy of this weeks issue and with that they also got a look at the new 2015 Mustang photos, although we are still a little sceptical about the originality of them they do not look like crisp clean images and more like renderings again, especially as we have seen similar renderings on the internet for the last 6 months. These are based / created by people who imagine / think this is what it will look like based on removing the black camoflage from all the recent spy shots. The Autoweek article shows a number of studio photos of nearly every angle of Ford’s new pony car, plus a suposed photo of the interior.
The article also provides some details on the new 2015 Mustang that is due for release in the late spring of 2014. Some of this information, like the rear independant suspension and the availability of a new turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine was already known by many insiders, but it looks like there are a number of new items like a a Performance Pack will be available on both the 5.0 and 2.3, larger brakes (15-inch, 6-piston for the 5.0, standard GT 14-inch brakes for the 2.3), a Torsen limited-slip differential with 3.55 gears, response-tuned bushings, staggered wheels and additional gauges. Ford says the 2015 Mustang GT with the Performance Pack will be faster than the 2012-2013 Boss 302 on track.
Autoweek also says that 200 pounds has been dropped for 2015 in part due to lightweight aluminum fenders. This all new 2015 Mustang won’t be much smaller than the current generation, though, with the exact same 107.1-inch wheelbase and a similar length. It will be lower and wider, though.
The 2015 Mustang’s official reveal is on Thursday between 7-9am on Good Morning America in Times Square - we are sure they will be no burnouts just a reveal and maybe a cruise back to the studio.
