Tuning is an important consideration any time you bypass the catalytic converter on modern cars, including the Camaro SS. To prevent a check engine light, as well as to optimize all that extra airflow, you’re going to want a custom tune. Because of ever-tightening EPA restrictions many of the handheld tuners that used to allow you to disable the rear O2s no longer work that way. So the only way to be certain you won’t have check engine lights is to have the car custom tuned. These days that’s a common practice and you can probably find a tuner in just about any town in America. It’s really not a downside because if you’re to the point of making major mods, and this would count as major, you really should get a custom tune anyway.
