We were recently invited to join BBK Performance in Temecula to help celebrate their 25 years of success in the aftermarket performance industry. Brothers Performance has been one of BBK's largest distributors for over 20 years and have seen the company's product line of Exhaust, Throttle Bodies, Cold Air Intakes and Suspension grow to cover so many of todays modern American muscle cars and trucks as well as see the growth of their new manufacturing and distribution facilities across the USA.
The BBK 25th Anniversary car show and sales event was held a couple of weeks ago on Saturday September 28th following BBK's attendance at the PWA conference in Phoenix AZ . The sun was out and the weather was perfect. Mustangs, Camaros and a variety of American muscle cars and trucks started to arrive around 8am to reserve a spot and get their name down for the dyno shoot out and exhaust sound off.
By 8.30am the food truck was already firing up the BBQ smoker for the tri tip and pulled pork sandwiches and the DJ had arrived to set up, by 10am the car show was in full swing with nearly all of the 200 plus parking spaces filled with some of the best looking American muscle cars and trucks in southern California and cars were already lining up for a shot at the Dyno shoot out.
There were a number of car clubs in attendance from the local area, Camaro5.com, Rebel Stangs, Wicked Stangs and 302 Motorsports as well as many other individuals, families, old friends and BBK customers from their 25 years in business.
At 1pm it was time for the Exhaust sound off, around 25 cars drove across the street to the 27427 building and got ready, cars lined up in position and were then given the signal to rev their engines to get the loudest DB reading from the rear of the car where a brave BBK employee held the DB meter to record the measurements. The winner measured 128.8 DB and second place just missed out with 128.0DB. Raffle prizes and giveaways prizes were announced every half hour that included BBK gift certificates, BBK mechanics work shirts, Dickies embroidered BBK jackets, t shirts and womens tank tops. Unfortunately the BBK in ground dyno started to have problems early on in the afternoon so the dyno techs switched to the BBK above ground dyno but were again troubled by dyno demons, so the dyno shoot out abrubtly ended around 2pm.
At 2pm the owners Brian & Ken Murphy along with plant manager Shane White hosted a special BBK shop tour of the BBK CNC machine department and the BBK CNC weld shop that has never been seen before by the general public - many people enjoyed a very personal tour and saw how BBK operate their modern manufacturing facility and how they have become a leader in the aftermarket performance parts business.
It was a great fun day meeting everyone and having a good time, it was especially nice to hear from so many people how much they liked their BBK performance parts that they had installed over the years on their cars.
Congratulations to Brian & Ken Murphy on their 25 years in business as a leader in the aftermarket performance business. From all of the staff here at Brothers Performance we look forward to another 25 years of great quality American designed and built performance parts.
