Today’s blog story is a “Just for fun” at the track story and video and why not – we love this stuff!
There is a saying as you all probably know – “There is no replacement for displacement” will that hold true here when a 2013 Mustang Cobra jet takes on a ST Fiesta in a drag race.
Well Ford decided to find out if the saying still holds true with today’s modern high performance Ford Racing cars with distinct weight differences and modern day high performance gear boxes.
So what would happen when a Global Rally cross Fiesta ST, driven by Tanner Foust is lined up against a Ford racing Mustang Cobra Jet drag racer, driven by Roy Hill.
In one lane, Tanner has just 2.0 liters of displacement to work with, while Roy has more than double that, at 5.0 liters. Evening the playing field a bit, Tanner has a massive turbocharger and all-wheel drive; Roy has to filter all his supercharged power through the rear wheels only.
So, who wins? We suggest you see for yourself in the press release and video below. And we're holding out hope that Tanner's challenge at the end results in another video from Ford Racing...
By the way the Ford Cobra Jet does willies & has power winders!
