Congratulations Mike Sakiewicz, Brothers Performance $1,000 Shopping Spree Winner!
Brothers Performance is proud to announce Mike Sakiewicz of Frankfort, Illinois as our December $1,000 Shopping Spree contest winner. Mike is a hardcore Mustang fanatic in the process of building his 1986 Mustang GT into a budget warrior and he'll be on his way with some hot new parts thanks to Brothers Performance.
“I got a phone call from Brothers Performance, but I was working so I couldn’t answer,” Mike stated with a chuckle. “I called back and they told me I won and I was super excited! I thought they already picked a winner so i never gave winning a second thought. I was totally surprised because it’s the first time I’ve ever won anything,” said the 24 year old construction equipment worker, who recently broke his hand on the job.
Mike picked up his 1986 GT at a police auction, but it sat for two years as he contemplated whether he wanted to build it of get a different car. “This car had an AOD and I wanted a stick, but it’s hard to find clean cars up here in Illinois,” he explained. “Its got surface rust, but otherwise it is in good shape. I decided to keep it and I did a T5 swap myself, and added a Steeda Tri-Ax shifter, Ford Racing Aluminum Driveshaft, 3.73s and a Detroit Locker differential.”

Mike also installed BBK Shorty Headers and a Brothers Performance Off-Road H-Pipe, with the system dumping under the car. “I like it loud, so I went with straight exhaust with no tail pipes,” Mike stated. “I also did the Ford Racing A/C delete and took the smog pump off. Other than that it's stock.”
With his $1,000 shopping spree, Mike selected a Brentech Cold-Air Intake kit, a 70mm Brentech throttle body, along with a Pro-M 75mm Mass Air meter, Pro-M Mass Air wiring harness, Stage 8 Locking header bolts and Maximum Motorsports Extreme Duty Adjustable Rear Lower Control Arms.

“It’s an ’86 so it is speed density, but I’m switching it to mass air," he added. "I already have the A9L computer sitting in my room. I’d like to a do a GT-40 build on the Mustang, but I’m working on the suspension first. I’ll go with sub-frame connectors and suspension mods before I start adding power. I’m more about the go-fast so I’ll get that done before I worry about looks.”
Brothers performance congratulates Mike and we’re glad to help make his 1986 Ford Mustang GT build a special one. We can help you, too! In fact, all you have to do is click here and sign up for your chance to win! We have another $1,000 Shopping Spree going on right now and you can be the next winner.
