Over the past few weeks Dodge has been building hype by releasing teaser pics and videos, showing some of the nifty gadgets the car will have and hinting at the horsepower and torque figures. Based on what we know about it so far, the new Demon is sure to deliver plenty of evil at the track. The car will feature an elaborate Launch Mode that is designed to work with the revised suspension and sticky Nitto tires to deliver the best 60-foot times possible.

The Launch Mode combines a bunch of really useful technology to help plant the huge torque the supercharged HEMI delivers. Not only does it have a handy system to limit RPM at the startling line, but it also incorporates a unique torque reserve to keep it from just spinning the tires for a quarter mile. It even closes the bypass valve on the supercharger to help it build boost even quicker off the line and can bleed off a little boost to balance traction.

In the recent teaser video called “No Pills” (shown below); you get to see Launch Mode in action. Not only that but you get to hear the unique sound that it makes. To those familiar with drag racing the phrase “no pills” obviously refers to the 2-step style RPM limiter and fits in with the tagline “If you know, you know” that Dodge has been using to promote the car from the beginning.
Many of the teaser images contain cryptic codes and equations that appear to be hinting at the final horsepower and torque figures. Based on this, many believe the official numbers will be 757 Horsepower and 815 foot pounds of torque. While that’s a stout gain in both horsepower and torque, it seems totally plausible based on its mods and what the base Hellcat is already capable of.
