Ford Donates 2016 Shelby GT350R at Barrett Jackson to Benefit JDRF
Earlier this week, Ford stole the show at the North American International Auto Show and the Detroit automaker is once again making headlines as Ford Donates 2016 Shelby GT350R at Barrett Jackson to Benefit JDRF Charity. Live coverage of the Shelby GT350R crossing the block will air on Velocity on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015.
“The Shelby GT350R is a world-class car, the best performing Mustang that we have ever built,” said Raj Nair, Ford Group Vice President, Global Product Development. “We are thrilled to donate the first retail production Shelby GT350R to JDRF for auction. When this car crosses the auction block it should raise a tremendous amount of money for a great charity.” According to Ford, All proceeds from the sale will benefit JDRF, the country’s leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes research.
The Mustang Ford donates will be the first retail production Shelby GT350R Mustang, VIN#001, will be auctioned by Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale on Saturday with all proceeds benefiting JDRF and the auction winner on this GT350R will be able to select any available options.
The R-model GT350, which was introduced earlier this week at the NAIAS in Detroit, is sure to set the performance car world on fire when it arrives late next year. Features include carbon-fiber wheels, 130-pound weight reduction, special Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires and improved aerodynamics. Engine output is expected to be in the 520-horsepower range! In addition, Ford stated that the Shelby GT350R Team members will sign the car in appreciation of the donations to JDRF. Ford has supported JDRF since 1983.

We are dedicated to continue our work and to share our vision of creating a world without type 1 diabetes.”
