For years now, the BBK Performance throttle body has been one of the most popular upgrades for the HEMI powered Charger, Challenger and 300. Now BBK has released this 78MM throttle body (part # 1841) for enthusiasts with the Pentastar 3.6L V6. As you would expect, this throttle body covers 2011-2018 Charger, Challenger and 300, but it also fits 2012-2018 Jeep Wrangler. Brothers Performance now has these available and they are likely going to be very popular. Their popularity is largely due to their budget-friendly price, extremely simple installation and dyno-proven results. This simple bolt on part flows 35% more than stock! With a near stock car or Jeep you can typically expect a 12 to 14 horsepower increase and even more on heavily modified or forced-induction applications.
BBK Performance has been on the forefront of aftermarket throttle body technology since their inception over 25 years ago. Back in the late 80’s most of the enthusiasts modifying the popular EFI cars and trucks of the time were taking off the EFI and converting those engines to carburetion. Back then most people felt that there was no way to improve power output on EFI engines and that they were just too complicated. BBK founders saw a need for EFI performance parts and began cranking out upgraded throttle bodies for a variety of EFI applications. All those years of innovation eventually led to the development of this BBK Power Plus 3.6L Throttle Body for the popular Dodge Challenger, Charger, 300 and Jeep Wrangler.
You can install this Dodge 3.6L throttle body on your car or Jeep Wrangler engine in under 30 minutes and the improvement will be immediately apparent the first time you go wide open. Click Here to download the easy to follow instructions. It’s compatible with the factory air intake but to get the maximum increase in airflow it’s a good idea to pair it with a cold air intake. The only thing you need to do after installation is perform the simple throttle pedal relearn procedure outlined below. This should be done anytime the throttle body is changed on these cars, even when replacing with a factory unit.
After installation is complete, you’ll just need to perform these 4 simple steps to complete the relearn procedure.
1. Disconnect battery for 5 minutes. Reconnect. (or use a code reader to clear any stored codes in the computer)
NOTE: If this is a new install, proceed to step 2.
2. Turn ignition key to on position, do not start the engine.
3. Slowly depress the gas pedal to the floor, and then slowly release it. Do this three (3) times. Turn the key off.
4. Start engine. The gas pedal is now in synch with the larger throttle body.
The BBK 78MM 3.6L Dodge/Jeep throttle body is a great choice for engines all the way from stock to supercharged or max-effort, high RPM naturally aspirated applications. Even though it’s much larger than the factory throttle body, installing it doesn’t result in any lost low-end torque. This is what makes it such a great choice for 3.6L V6 Jeep as well as street car applications. Every Jeep guy knows their Wrangler needs every bit of low end pulling power available for navigating off-road terrain. The 2012-2018 Wrangler definitely responds well to this V6 Jeep throttle body.
