Increase the power of your 2010-2015 Camaro SS with a Cold Air Intake

Chevrolet really outdid themselves in 2010 when they released the new Camaro SS. Sub 5-second 0-60 times, 426 horsepower LS3 V8 and Brembo brakes made this Zeta platform car a stunner from the factory, but as enthusiasts we need MORE power.

One of the easiest ways to increase the horsepower and torque of the 2010-2015 Camaro is by bolting on a cold air kit. Cold air kits replace the factory air box with a high flow, open element air filter and less restrictive intake tubing. This allows cooler, denser air to enter the engine with more oxygen, improving combustion and increasing power. Gains of up to 14HP can be made by adding a cold air kit by itself and even more power can be extracted when the cold air kit is used with a tuner.
While there are many cold air kits available for the GEN5 Camaro SS, they are all designed to accomplish the same task of increasing power by offering more airflow and providing a cooler intake charge. However when it to comes dressing-up the engine bay, that’s where there are huge differences between the kits.

BBK Performance 2010-2015 Camaro SS cold air kits are made from metal and are available in chrome plated or powder coated finishes. BBK is one of the only companies making Camaro cold air kits out of good old, durable metal. Companies such as K&N, Airaid, Cold Air Inductions, Rotofab and SLP are making their cold air kits from plastics similar to the factory components. If you want to add some bling under the hood, go with the BBK chrome plated cold air kit or choose one of the many plastic kits to keep a more subdued, factory look.
