Mustang Goes To Outer Space Kind Of
Ford have been celebrating the 2015 Ford Mustang launch across the globe recently and now there is news and video about a group of guys sponsored by a local Ford dealership celebrating the 2015 Mustang's birthday by sending it (or a toy version) to outer space. The guys are all from Stockton California and they recently sent a small model 2015 Mustang to what's considered "near space" (about 21 miles up) using a weather balloon, and they captured all the excitement with an attached GoPro with GPS. From what we can tell in the photos and video, the 2015 model Mustang seems to be the same snap-together model 2015 Mustang Ford gave out at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year. It's quite light, which makes it an ideal choice for this voyage to space. The video captures the journey up and the moment the weather balloon bursts and the whole apparatus starts to barrel towards earth like Felix Baumgartner! The guys finish up with big high fives when the model Mustang, the GoPro camera and the GPS tracker are located some six hours later somewhere in northern California.
