The 2013 SEMA Show in Las Vegas is now just a short few weeks away. It will be held at the Las Vegas Hilton convention center, November 5th through November 8th, news and rumors are already being leaked about what we may or may not see at the show which will see the big 3 showing off their latest models and concept cars for 2014 and beyond. Ford as always has one of the largest booths that attracts thousands of ford fans to it every year – this year will be no exception with the anticipation and excitement that we may get a look into what Ford has in store for us with the launch of the 2015 Mustang and they will undoubtedly have a huge selection of top shelf special cars on hand to show off.
Tone of these cars will be the “Project Yellow Jacket” Ford Mustang created by the team at Vortech Superchargers in Oxnard California. This car looks like it will get some serious attention with its vibrant yellow finish and its serious muscle car looks.
“As a lifelong Ford fan, I was inspired to create this project car when I realized Ford doesn’t offer yellow on the 2014 Mustang,” said Brian Ellis, sales, marketing and social media manager for AirPower Group. “We wanted to create something really eye-popping with a mechanical package to match the appearance.”
The team at Vortech added 3D Carbon’s Boy Racer kit, along with a carbon-fiber cowl induction hood and other carbon accents from TruFiber all finished in a custom paint supplied by DuPont.
Under the carbon-fiber hood sits the potent 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine topped off with a Vortech V-3 Si supercharging system packing 605 horsepower and 473 lb.-ft. with 7.5 psi of boost. Other upgrades include:
Project Yellow Jacket also sports a Webasto custom electronic sunroof, iForged Icon 20” three-piece wheels wrapped in Falken Azenis FK453 tires, Baer 6S six-piston brakes at all four corners, as well as a custom powder-coated Maximum Motorsports Road & Track
