The fully restored and documented 1969 Shelby GT500 Mustang is one of only nineteen 4-speeds that came from the factory finished in Grabber Blue, Carroll Shelby’s favorite color. This ranks it among the most collectible classic muscle cars on the planet and an irreplaceable piece of automotive history. Famous in 1969 for its unique five-scoop hood configuration, this GT500 was special ordered with all the right options including a 428 Cobra Jet, 4-speed close-ratio manual transmission, front disc brakes, and 3.50 Traction-Lok rear axel. The 1969 Shelby GT500 was also designed with several other features that help set it apart from other Mustangs produced in earlier years including side stripes relocated midway up the body side and an increased body length of 4 inches.
The 2014 Shelby GT500 Mustang incorporates several design creations to mirror its matching 1969 Grabber Blue predecessor, including a hand-built one-off aluminum hood, quarter scoops, retro stripes, modified rear window configuration to match the look of the 69, and modified body panels. The hand built one-off aluminum hood created for this Shelby is the only one of its kind and was custom designed to match the iconic five scoop hood configuration of the 1969 GT500.
You may wonder if it is fast? Ford tested the new GT500, a 662 horsepower street legal racecar, at more than 200 miles per hour! Its supercharged 5.8 litre aluminum V8 leaves the competition in the dust. Six-speed Tremec manual transmission, Brembo brakes, tuned adjustable suspension, and launch control, make this race-worthy GT500 an enthusiast's dream.
New Beginning Children’s Homes (NBCH), is a 501(c) 3 provider of family style long term residential care with a mission to provide foster children a safe and faith centered family atmosphere where they can heal, grow, and be loved while working through difficult life issues. NBCH has chosen to provide grants from the proceeds of this nationwide giveaway to the following charities: Breast Cancer Connections, Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Smile Network International, Outdoor Recreation Heritage Foundation, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), National Guard Educational Foundation, Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries, Chip Miller Foundation and the Outdoor Conservation Fund.
