We started by disconnecting the negative battery cable. Then we removed thestrut tower brace. Following, the plastic engine cover was removed to access the throttle body. After this, we disconnected the mass airflow sensor wire and removed the cold air intake tube. Here’s a view of the stock throttle body.Prior to unbolting, disconnect the wiring connector located at the base of the throttle body.Next, the four bolts securing the TB were removedthe stock throttle body was removed. The BBK 85mm throttle body is significantly larger than the stock unit.To install the new throttle body, simply reverse the process. The intake has a rubber O-ring, eliminating the need for paper gaskets. Caution must be taken not to over-tighten the bolts due to the plastic factory intake.Simply tighten the bolts to compress the rubber O-ring.Next, we connected the plug-in.The BBK Cold air Intake was reinstalled. We tightened clamps holdingthe air filter. Then we connected themass airflow (MAF) sensorwire. Finally, the engine cover and strut-tower brace were installed, and the battery cable reconnected. Adding a BBK throttle body is truly straightforward—resulting in increased horsepower, enhanced throttle response, optimized torque, and faster quarter-mile times.
