More Mustangs From SEMA
SEMA and Mustang just go together, and the BrothersPerformance.com team was in full force at the 2014 SEMA show in Las Vegas, checking out not only the stable of customized 2015 Ford Mustangs, but all the Mustangs and endless count of Mustang parts and aftermarket companies such as BBK Performance. With that, we wanted to present you even More Mustangs From SEMA.
We’ve already written about the Ford Racing King Cobra, a supercharged Mustang GT slathered in Ford Racing components. And unlike many of the customized SEMA cars and trucks, the King Cobra can be replicated by 2015 Mustang owers, as Jamie Allison, director of Ford Racing, put it, “opening the Ford Racing catalogue and getting one of everything.”
Another SEMA hit was Ken Block’s radically modified 1965 Mustang notchback. Starring in “Gymkhana 7,” Block’s Mustang sports a 845-horsepower engine linked to a one-of-a-kind four-wheel-drive system to produce smoky burnouts like you’ve never seen. If you haven’t seen Block tearing up the streets of L.A., we urge you to read quickly and see the video.

“Walking through the show floor and talking to all the Mustang builders was a special experience,” said Dave Pericak, Mustang chief engineer. “These builders were among the first people to pick up the 2015 Mustang from dealerships about a month ago; since that time they have worked flat-out to fabricate and customize their SEMA show cars. The passion these builders have for the Mustang is what drives my team and me to give the Mustang everything we’ve got.”
Another of our favorites was the street/strip-themed 2015 Mustang of Watson Racing. This special Stang rocked with custom paint, a roll bar, suspension and interior mods and a supercharged 5.0L Coyote. Enthusiasts were enamored with Chip Foose’s Mustang convertible, plus a Full Race’s SCCA-eligible EcoBoost® Mustang.
Ford Out Front offers anyone the chance to see More Mustangs From SEMA, plus Ford vehicles and Ford Racing star drivers who get it on in a tire-smoking, four-wheel-drifting and truck-jumping extravaganza. This is a fan favorite, thanks to the likes of Vaughn Gittin Jr. in his modified 2015 Mustang, as well as the Ford Racing High Performance Driving School instructors demonstrating the road course capabilities of the new Mustang to eager passengers and several other Ford drivers. We also saw Jack Roush Jr. and a few other notable drivers burning tires.
There was also over 50 Mustangs on display at Ford Out Front, at least one from each year of production.
50 years of Ford Mustang
More than 9.4 million Mustangs have been produced since the car’s 1964 debut.
With more options to choose from, there is a Mustang to fit any lifestyle. The upgraded V8 in Mustang GT – now delivering 435 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque – is joined by a 300- horsepower 3.7-liter V6 and an all-new 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine that brings state-of-the-art technology to Mustang.
The 2.3-liter EcoBoost uses direct injection, variable cam timing and a twin-scroll turbocharger to deliver the performance Mustang drivers expect, with an output of 310 horsepower and 320 lb.-ft. of torque.
In addition to being the most-liked vehicle on Facebook, with 8 million likes, the all-new Mustang is turning on U.S. dealer lots in an average of six days.
